Ms. Susanne Dollmann is project director at Arepo Consult. In this position, she mainly leads the International Climate Initiative (IKI) Project Evaluation for the German Ministry for the Environment (BMU).

She holds a Master’s degree in International Agricultural Sciences and a postgraduate certificate from the Centre for Rural Development (Seminar für Ländliche Entwicklung, SLE) at Humboldt-Universität Berlin. Ms. Dollmann has more than 20 years of experience in international cooperation mainly in the sector of rural development, sustainable agriculture, climate change and biodiversity protection as well as ecosystem based adaptation. Natural resources management and monitoring and evaluation are regular tools applied.


She combines a strong academic profile with practical experience in evaluation, e.g. the evaluation of concept notes for the IKI in 2015, 2016 and 2018. Ms. Dollmann possesses strong skills in design, analysis and documentation of climate relevant projects related to biodiversity and ecosystem based adaptation.

Ms. Dollmannn has gained her experience in biodiversity and resource management during long-term assignments in West, East Africa as well as Southeast Asia. Here she was employed by former GDS (DED, Deutscher Entwicklungsdienst) as farm manager (Tanzania) and later as coordinator for as well as natural resources management and rural development (Cameroon). For GIZ (former GTZ) she represented the Northern Antenna in Maroua for the Communal Forestry Project, here conservation and restoration of forests were in focus. In Southeast Asia Ms. Dollmann was head of the Environment and Development Section of the Institute for Higher Education AIT-VN (Asian Institute of Technology) elaborating among other curricula on climate change and its implications for project design. Later she led the cooperation for AIT-VN with the World Bank on the Establishment of the Learning Centre for Social and Environmental Safeguards aiming to protect the valuable ecosystem of Viet Nam.


She speaks fluent English, very good French, good Kiswahili, and basic Vietnamese.
